Kickplates are a great addition to your exterior doors. Kick plates provide a great look but they also protect your door from wear and tear caused by traffic. We have many finishes available to match your other door hardware products. Generally you will want to order a kickplate 2" smaller than the width of the door you have. For example, a 36" door would look the best with a 34" wide kickplate. The weatherstrip on either side of the door will cover up to 1/2" of your door, so a kickplate that is a bit smaller leaves a nice reveal around the sides of the kickplate. If you order the exact same kick plate as your door width, the kickplate will hit the weatherstrip and jamb and may cause the door to close improperly. Our kick plates are custom made per order and generally take up to 3 weeks before delivery. Some sizes and finishes are stocked, please call us to verify if you are in a rush and we can check the timeframe. There is a 25% restock fee assessed on all returned kickplates.
Kickplates are made from various different base materials to acheive the finish desired. The chart below shows the base material used and thickness of the product. Finishes are plated and laquered much like the finish used on door knobs and other door hardware products. Kickplates are custom made and generally take up to 3 weeks before shipment. Because of their customized nature there is a 25% restock fee on kickplate. Custom size kickplates are non-returnable. These kick plates are shipped with a protective film on the finish side.

How to order Kickplates:
Generally you will want to order a kickplate 2" smaller than the width of the door it will be used on. For example a 36" door (actually may measure 35 3/4") you would want to order a 34" kickplate. Your door will be covered with about 1/2" of door stop and weatherstrip so if you ordered a 36" plate for a 36" door the kickplate would get in the way and the door would not close properly. If you order the size 2" smaller you'll have a nice reveal on each side of the kickplate. The height is really up to you as the look is more of a preference of how you want the kickplate to look on the door.Kickplates are custom made and generally take up to 3 weeks before shipment. Because of their customized nature, there is a 25% restock fee on standard sized kickplates. Kickplates that we have custom cut to your measurements are non-returnable.
